Description
The Baptist Church Sunday School, built in 1861 by Joseph Lattimer, is a single-storey structure located on Payton Street in Stratford-upon-Avon. It is designed in a classical style and constructed from stuccoed brick with a hipped slate roof. The building features a symmetrical five-window range, with angle pilasters and a top entablature.
A notable two-storey porch is present, which has paired pilasters and an open pediment. The entrance is segmental-headed, featuring a stilted archivolt with a blind tympanum above paired half-glazed doors. The windows are paired round-headed types with moulded sills that have aprons, as well as imposts, archivolts, and faceted keys. They have small-paned fixed glazing, while a segmental-headed window with a sill and architrave is located above the entrance, showcasing a 12-pane horned sash. The rear of the building includes high round-headed windows situated above a lean-to outshut. This building is included for its group value.
