Description

This headstone, dated 1710, is located approximately 20 meters north of the porch of the Church of St. Peter and St. Clare in Fenny Compton. It is made of carved ironstone and features a Baroque style top with a central cartouche supported by putti. The large oval panel is framed by carved heads, drapery, and flowers, with a skull at the base. This headstone is a finely carved example and commemorates a person who died at the age of 96. It is included for its group value.
