Description

The Hollies is a house dating to approximately 1835. It is built of Flemish bond brick, with yellow brick headers on the upper floors, and has a painted rendered first-floor sill course. The slate roof has deep eaves with paired modillions, and brick end stacks. The building is in an L-plan, with a two-storey wing extending to the rear. It is of a late Georgian style, arranged over three storeys with a three-window front. The front facade is symmetrical. The part-glazed, part-moulded six-panelled front door has a fanlight with decorative glazing, set within a painted moulded rendered doorcase consisting of Tuscan half-columns and fluted dosserets, topped with an open pediment. Large, late 19th-century rectangular bays with rendered surrounds are on the ground floor, containing plate glass tripartite sash windows. The first floor has tripartite and a central twelve-pane sash window. The second floor has six-pane sashes. Painted rendered rusticated flat arches with keyblocks are visible, with cornices on the first-floor keyblocks. The interior has not been inspected.
