Description

Ivy House Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse, with a datestone in the porch marking the year 1640. The building has been partly rebuilt and has had additions to the rear in the 19th century, along with 20th-century alterations. It features a timber frame with whitewashed brick infill, with the left part underbuilt and the right return side rebuilt, all in whitewashed brick. The roof is covered with plain tiles and has brick stacks at the left end and along the ridge. The farmhouse has a four-unit plan that extends to a T-plan with a wing at the rear. It is one storey high with an attic and has a four-window range. The central entrance has a 20th-century glazed door and an open porch, while the windows are 20th-century three-light casements. The first floor includes gabled half-dormers, and both the left return side and rear display exposed framing. The interior is noted for its exposed framing as well.
