Description
This is a row of four headstones located approximately 5.5 meters south of the south aisle of the Church of St. Peter. They date from the late 17th century to early 18th century and are made of carved and moulded sandstone. The leftmost headstone is dated 1714 and features a shaped top with a winged head and crossed palms, along with a triple swag and scrolled panel, inscribed to Elizabeth Collit. The second headstone has a shaped top with drapery drops and scrolls below, along with a small winged head and a moulded sunk panel. The third and fourth headstones share a similar design, featuring an open segmental pediment with a winged head, a leaf scroll frieze, composite half-columns, and a fielded panel.
