Description

The Rose Public House is a public house dating from the early to mid-18th century, with a small 19th-century addition on the left and a former outbuilding from the mid to late 19th century at right angles on the right. The building is constructed of squared coursed ironstone and features a thatched roof with coped gable parapets and brick end stacks. The additions are made of brick, with the right wing being whitewashed and having slate roofs.

The structure has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys tall with a two-window range. The central entrance features a late 20th-century part-glazed door with a hood above. The ground floor has late 20th-century two-light top-hung casements, with blackened wood lintels. The first floor is fitted with old three-light casements, and there are glazing bars throughout. The left range includes a late 20th-century half-glazed door. The two-window right wing has two 20th-century doors, accompanied by a small porch at the angle, and features two-light casements with glazing bars. The first floor has an additional door, and painted brick segmental arches are present.

Inside, there is an open fireplace that includes a fire window and an ogee stop-chamfered beam.
