Description

Hall End Hall is a former farmhouse dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of Flemish bond and Flemish stretcher bond brick, featuring string courses. It has an old plain-tile roof with gable parapets and simple kneelers, along with brick ridge and lateral stacks on the return sides. The structure has an irregular U-plan and consists of two storeys and an attic, with a four-window range. The centre of the building has shallow projections at the re-entrant angles, and there is a late 20th-century half-glazed door. Most of the windows are mid to late 20th-century three-light casements with glazing bars. There is a late 19th-century one-storey addition on the right side, which has a hipped roof. The wings feature 19th-century canted bays on the ground floor, with four-light wood mullioned and transomed windows that include glazing bars; the left window is from the 20th century. The gables have string courses and attic windows. The rear of the building is irregular, with the left wing projecting and the right wing set back. Inside, there are broad-chamfered ceiling beams, and a simple open well staircase with turned balusters that have two shaft rings.
