Description
Sycamore Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that was largely refaced in the mid-19th century. It features a timber frame with large framing and a brick front, while the right bay is made of sandstone rubble. The cottage has an old plain-tile roof and a brick ridge stack. It has a two-unit plan that has been extended to a three-unit plan, and it is one storey high with an attic, presenting a two-window range. The entrance is a plank door on the left side. The ground floor has casement windows with glazing bars, consisting of three lights, and the dormers have two-light casements. To the left, there is a one-storey addition that includes a two-light casement with horizontal glazing bars. The right window features a brick lintel, while the other openings have brick segmental arches. The rear of the cottage shows exposed framing, and the interior is noted for having beams.
