Description
Crossways Farmhouse is a farmhouse with origins in the 17th century, mainly dating from the late 18th century. It features a timber frame that has been replaced by red brick in random bonding. The roof is plain-tiled and has shaped bargeboarding at the gable facing the road. There is a red brick ridge stack. The building has a three-unit plan with the gable end facing the road and an additional range added to the east wall. It is one storey with an attic. The west wall includes a gable eaves dormer from the late 20th century, and there are segmental header brick arches over two three-light casements and a doorway with a boarded door. The gable end has a first-floor hung sash window beneath a wood lintel and another window at ground level under a similar arch. The doorway in the east wing also has a boarded door. The eastern range, dating from the 18th century, is constructed of brick and has a plain tiled roof. It is two storeys high with one boarded door and one three-light wood casement on both the first and ground floors, each under flat arches.
