Description

No. 120 Long Street is an early 19th-century house that has been incorporated into a factory. The building is not a single construction and steps down the street. It features Flemish bond brickwork and old plain-tile roofs, with complex and irregular plans that are partly hidden by later additions at the rear.

The building has three storeys and a four-bay left range that includes painted rendered dressings, a moulded and dentil cornice, a parapet, gable parapets, and a brick stack at the right end. The second bay contains a round-arched doorway with a blind tympanum and a fielded six-panelled door, although the doorcase has been removed. The narrower fourth bay has flush six-panelled double-leaf doors, and a rusticated rendered elliptical arch with triple keyblocks. The windows include 16-pane sashes, with some alterations on the ground floor, and sashes on the first floor, while the lower second floor features 20th-century fixed lights. Throughout the building, there are rusticated rendered flat arches with triple keyblocks.

The lower one-bay central range has a 20th-century ground floor with large doors, while the upper floors, which have been re-faced in the 20th century, feature a four-pane sash and a three-light casement above. The two-bay right range includes a doorway with a rusticated rendered arch and a 20th-century door. There are also 20th-century double doors on the right that cut into a blocked window, and another window with a four-pane sash, both topped with rusticated rendered flat arches with keyblocks. The first floor has a two-light window on the left and a 20th-century cross window, while the second floor features a 20th-century three-light and a 19th-century two-light casement. The interior has not been inspected.
