Description
Gramer Cottages are a row of almshouses built in 1822, located on Mancetter Road. They are constructed from whitewashed brick and feature a plain-tile roof added in the 20th century, along with mid-20th century brick ridge and right end stacks. Each cottage has a one-unit plan, is single-storey, and consists of a one-window range. The cottages have ribbed doors and there is an opening that leads to a passage between Nos. 2 and 3. The windows are tall, narrow, three-light painted iron latticed casements, and all openings are topped with shallow segmental arches. A cast iron open verandah runs along the front, featuring a 12-bay arcade of four-centred arches supported by slender shafts, with spandrels decorated with trefoiled circle tracery and an embattled parapet. The interiors have not been inspected.
