Description

Dee Boutique and The Three Tuns Public House is a shop and public house located on Long Street in Atherstone. The right section of the building dates from the early 19th century, while the left part is from the mid to late 19th century. The exterior is rendered, and it features plain-tile roofs. The structure has a T-plan with a long, irregular range extending to the rear.

The right part of the building showcases banded rustication on the ground floor and a string course, with alternating quoins and a moulded cornice on the upper floors. It stands three storeys tall with a three-window range. The entrance to The Three Tuns is on the left, featuring half-glazed double doors and a wide, shallow porch supported by Tuscan columns and a plain entablature. The central shop front for No. 93 has a half-glazed four-panel door with an off-centre plain fanlight, two bays with late 20th-century glazing bars, and a continuous fascia. There is a rusticated arch leading to a passage on the right. The first floor has sash windows, with 16 panes in the first and second bays, and a central window that has a rendered surround with simple consoles and a cornice. The second floor features 12-pane sashes, while the third bay has a late 20th-century top-hung window.

The left range has a brick stack at the right end and is three storeys high with a two-window range. It includes a moulded four-panel door and fanlight on the left. The large ground-floor canted bay has segmental-arched plate glass sashes. To the right, there is a wide 20th-century wooden mullioned and transomed four-light window with a fascia. The upper floors have segmental-arched four-pane sashes set in rendered architraves, with moulded, chamfered details and consoles and cornices on the first floor. The interiors have not been inspected. The building is included for its group value.
