Description
The Manor House is a late 17th-century house located on Nuneaton Road. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, set on a coursed sandstone plinth, and features a plain-tiled roof with two ridge stacks, one at each crossing. The building has a half-H plan, a cellar, two storeys, and an attic. The front has two gables adorned with a tabled dentil cornice, and each gable contains a wood casement window set within a segmental arch. The symmetrical front has a three-window range of 20th-century wood casements, also under segmental arches. The central doorway features an original flat sandstone canopy and a later 18th-century doorcase with panelled reveals and a panelled door that includes two smaller glazed panels, flanked by full-length casements. The south elevation has been restored with 19th-century two-storey bays. Inside, the house boasts an inglenook hearth in one room, raised and fielded panelled doors, and an early 19th-century closed string staircase with stick balusters. The roof is constructed with staggered butt purlins and includes ashlar pieces.
