Description

Lady Bridge is a bridge over the River Tame with medieval origins. It was rebuilt in 1796 after the old bridge was destroyed by flooding and widened in 1840. The bridge is constructed of ashlar in a classical style and features six rusticated segmental arches, with the two central arches being larger. There is a continuous hood band above the arches, a plain parapet on the east side, and a roll moulding with a coped parapet on the west side. The south ends of the bridge have octagonal piers, and there are signs of widening on the four outer arches. Lady Bridge is an important feature in the landscape surrounding the castle.
