Description

The Statue of Sir Robert Peel, located in Tamworth, was created in 1853 by the sculptor Matthew Noble. This bronze statue stands on an ashlar plinth, which features a battered design with an inscription and panelled returns. The statue depicts Sir Robert Peel, a prominent figure dressed in contemporary attire and a long cloak. Sir Robert Peel, Baronet of Drayton Manor, lived from 1788 to 1850 and served as the Member of Parliament for Tamworth from 1830 to 1850, as well as Prime Minister from 1841 to 1846.
