Description
Basford Bridge over the River Churnet is a road bridge dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of red sandstone ashlar and features three elliptical arches that are separated by piers and pontoons below the impost level. The bridge has a heavy roll moulding at the carriageway level and low parapets that are nearly horizontal over the span. It is situated in a charming landscape setting, with the station located to the east.
