Description

The Hempson memorial is a chest tomb located approximately 10 meters south of the chancel of the Church of St Werburgh in Kingsley. It commemorates Hanna Hempson, who died in 1840. The memorial is made of stone and features a two-tier stepped plinth, deeply fluted pilasters at the corners, and inset inscribed side panels. It has a moulded top slab, and remnants of a kerb from a formerly railed enclosure can still be seen.
