Description
Folly tower built in the early 19th century, located approximately 50 metres south-west of the Bath House. It is constructed from rock-faced coursed stone and features a flat roof that is hidden behind crenellated corbelled parapets in a Castellar style. The tower has a small plan and steps down a bank, consisting of a circular main tower with an attached circular stair tower. The main tower is two storeys high and is lit by 2-light stone mullioned windows, while the stair tower to the north-east rises to three storeys, with the entrance located at the rear. This folly was built as part of a group with the Bath House and was presumably intended to provide a view that was never fully realized. The two structures are just visible from Basford Hall, but they do not relate to any approach.
