Description

This is a pair of early 19th-century houses, now incorporating a shop. The building has been altered in the mid-19th century and the 20th century. It is constructed of red brick with a tiled roof, topped by a central ridge stack. The front elevation has three bays and three storeys, featuring glazing bar sash windows with painted wedge heads. The window to the far left is tripartite with a large central pane. Upper floor windows have been replaced with casements. In the centre and on the left is a mid-19th-century plate glass shop window, featuring a cornice and consoles. The right-hand entrance has an overlight and an early 20th-century door. The building is part of a group of houses forming a tight streetscape, which is enclosed to the north by a crossing and to the south by St. Giles’ church.
