Description
No. 51 High Street is a house that has been converted into a police station. It was built in the early 19th century and has undergone minor alterations. The building is constructed of ashlar stone and features a low-pitched slate roof. The prominent facade is three stories high with three windows, and it has raised bands at the first-floor level. The windows are plate glass sashes, while the upper storey has square windows with moulded surrounds. The first floor features cornices above each window, and the outer windows follow a tripartite layout. This design is echoed on the ground floor, which has Serlian type fenestration. The central entrance is framed by a Tuscan doorcase and has a round arch above the fanlight, leading to a six-panel door.
