Description
The Wheatsheaf Hotel is an inn, now functioning as a hotel, that possibly dates back to the late 18th century, with alterations from the early 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of rendered stone and features a plain tiled roof, with a brick stack at the left end and a ridge stack to the right of the center. It has a three-storey façade with three window openings, which are fitted with plate glass sashes that are widely spaced on the left side. The entrance is located to the right of the center and is adorned with a moulded cornice and frieze above a small Tuscan porch. A large, two-storey wrought iron sign bracket is positioned over the entrance. At the rear, there is a wing that includes a large, small-pane, bow-fronted window.
