Description
No. 12 and 14 on Cross Street is a house dating from the 18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It features painted brickwork and a tiled roof with dentilled eaves, a verge parapet, and an end stack on the left side. The building has a wide, three-storey, two-window front. On the first floor, there are segmental-headed, three-light casements, while the upper floor has a single, central four-light casement. The ground floor is dominated by full-width plate glass shop windows, with a recessed door to the left. This house is part of a cohesive street group, which is effectively closed off at both ends by a cross to the north and the Roman Catholic Church of St. Giles to the south.
