Description
This building is a cottage located approximately 30 yards south of Lytchgate. It dates from the 18th century and has undergone later alterations and an addition. The structure is made of ashlar stone and features a plain tile roof with coped verges and brick stacks at the ends. Originally, it was a single-cell cottage oriented east-west and facing south, but it was later extended to the west to create a pair of single-cell cottages. The right-hand cottage is the earlier of the two, while the left-hand cottage is the later addition. Both cottages are two storeys tall. The right-hand cottage has cavetto moulded eaves and rusticated quoins, and it consists of two bays with 20th-century casements set within earlier surrounds. There is a part-glazed door to the right of the center with a raised surround, and a blocked door to the left of the center. The ashlar masonry of the left-hand cottage features herringbone tooling, while the right-hand cottage does not.
