Description

The perimeter walls to the west and north of Her Majesty's Prison were built around 1790, with alterations made in the 1950s. These walls are constructed of brick and feature ashlar dressings. They are tall, with ashlar offsets and coping. The angle turrets that were originally part of the structure were demolished during the 1950s, and the gatehouse was rebuilt in 1953.
