Description
The wall to the east of the Church of St Michael is a Grade II listed structure that extends approximately 80 meters along the eastern side of the churchyard. Its exact date of origin is uncertain, but it features rebuilding from the 18th and 19th centuries. The lower part of the wall is constructed of 18th-century brick, while the upper part is made of early 19th-century brick and has a chamfered ashlar coping. The section directly to the east of the church is lower and may be a 19th-century rebuilding. This site was once home to the Augustinian Priory of SS Mary and Wulfad, which was founded around 1135.
