Description

Splashy Mill is a late 18th century or early 19th century former bone grinding mill, now disused. It was originally a double mill featuring two waterwheels and grinding sheds. Currently, one grinding shed remains, which is a plain five-storey brick structure. This shed houses one overshot waterwheel and the housing for the second wheel. Inside the grinding shed, there are two 12-foot grinding pans along with ancillary machinery. Additionally, there is a small one-storey brick and tile building located on the west side.
