Description
The Coach House, stable block, and gate piers located to the southwest of Greenhills date from the mid-19th century. This stable yard features red brick construction with a hipped slate roof and brick stacks. The layout consists of two parallel ranges connected at the back by a wall and at the front by gates and gate piers.
The coach house is two storeys tall and divided into two sections. The left section has two windows on each floor, featuring cross casements with cast iron patterned glazing set in chamfered reveals. The right section has two smaller similar windows on the first floor and a segmental coach arch on the ground floor.
The stables are also two storeys high, with two windows on the first floor and four on the ground floor, along with two doorways. The right part of the stables was formerly used for domestic purposes.
The gate piers are made of brick with stone dressings that have been restored. There is a pump located in the northeast corner of the yard.
