Description

Trysull and Seisdon War Memorial comprises a stone, hooded Latin cross set upon a tapering shaft with carved decorative details, surmounting a square plinth with rounded shoulder. This stands on a four-stepped circular base.

On the front face of the plinth is a dedication in incised letters to those who lost their lives in the First World War, which reads IN HONOURED MEMORY/ OF THE MEN FROM/ TRYSULL AND SEISDON/ WHO FELL IN THE/ GREAT WAR./ 1914 – 1918/ A TABLET IN THIS CHURCH/ RECORDS THEIR NAMES.

On the south face of the plinth is a dedication to those who lost their lives in the Second World War, which reads ALSO THOSE WHO/ FELL IN THE WAR/ 1939 – 1945/ REST ETERNAL GRANT UNTO/ THEM O LORD AND LET LIGHT/ PERPETUAL SHINE UPON THEM/ MAY THEY REST IN PEACE.
