Description
Magpie Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that has been re-faced at the rear in the 19th century. It features a timber frame with painted brick infill and rear walls, topped by a brown tiled roof that has dormer stacks at the rear of the ridge. The cottage is two storeys tall with an attic and consists of two structural bays, with the entrance located to the right of centre. The square panel framing is braced under the wall plate at the truss divisions. The cottage has 19th-century casements within the frame, with one on the first floor and two on the ground floor. The depth of the building was reduced by one panel during the 19th-century rebuilding.
