Description

The Market Cross in Newcastle under Lyme is a structure originally built in the late 18th century, though it has been extensively renewed in the late 20th century. It is made of stone and features a fluted Doric column topped with a plain abacus and a cast-iron lamp bracket. This column stands on a square plinth, which is elevated above circular steps.
