Description

56A High Street is a former shop, possibly originally built as a dwelling, dating from the mid to late 18th century. The building is constructed of brick and features a plain tiled roof. It stands three stories high and has five bays, with a mid-19th century shop front that includes Tuscan columns supporting a moulded fascia. Above the shop front, there are 12-pane sash windows with stuccoed heads that have stressed keys. The central windows are adorned with architraves that are shouldered at the first floor. The building has an eaves cornice and a pediment over the central section, while the rear of the structure has been largely renewed.
