Description

The stone balustrade, located approximately 70 meters west of Maer Hall, is likely from the mid-to-late 19th century. It is constructed of sandstone ashlar and features a low, round-arched openwork design that stretches for about 200 meters. The balustrade includes moulded stone coping and ball finials, and is interrupted by five short flights of steps that lead down to the lower garden. It is possibly the work of Mawson, who designed the gardens of Maer Hall for F.J. Harrison in the late 19th century.
