Description

Minster House is a former house, dating to the late 18th century, that has been converted into office and residential use. It is built of brick with two stucco facades, and has a hipped slate roof with stucco stacks. The building follows a double-depth plan and is in the Georgian style.

The three-storey house has a basement and a two-window range facing Minster Pool Walk. A top frieze, cornice, and blocking course runs along the top. The entrance on the far left has a doorcase with a bracketed canopy, surmounted by a small-paned overlight above a five-panel door. Basement windows have small-paned casements with dripstones; the ground and first floors have Venetian windows with sills and 20th-century lintels, alongside sashes with glazing bars, those to the left having shallow reveals.

The second floor has tripartite sashes with a 4:12:4 pane configuration, each with horns. The right return has windows with twelve- and six-pane sashes, while the left return has varied window placement. The rear of the building is canted and features varied fenestration, along with a single-storey wing with a tile roof.
