Description
Hamley House is a 17th-century farmhouse that was refenestrated in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick in English bond and features a plain tile roof with stone-coped verges, shaped kneelers, and ball finials. The building has a brick ridge stack and an integral end stack on the rear wing. It has a T-shaped plan, with the main range aligned north-east to south-west, facing north-west, and a rear wing aligned north-west to south-east. The house is two stories high with a gable-lit attic.
The front of the house has three windows, primarily featuring glazing bar sashes with horns, while the ground floor left and center have 20th-century casements. There is a 19th-century gabled porch located to the right of center, which has a finial. The right-hand gable includes a two-story canted bay with a half-glazed door, a rectangular overlight, and 12-pane glazing bar sashes with horns, topped with a dentilled cornice. The rear wing has a large window on the ground floor and a sash window above.
