Description

Sutton Road Bridge is a canal bridge built around 1787, located on the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal. It is constructed of red brick with stone coping and features a single three-centred arch that spans the canal. The bridge has a parapet band and a plain parapet, with end pilaster buttresses. On the north side of the arch, there is a small round-headed door positioned to the right. The Fradley to Fazeley branch of the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal, which this bridge serves, was opened in 1788, and the contractor for its construction was John Pinkerton.
