Description

Bridge 43 is an accommodation bridge built in the late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and features stone half-round copings and quoins. The bridge has concave faces with parapets that slope down to the ground. It includes a segmental arch over the canal, with stone rubbing quoins positioned below the impost level. The Trent & Mersey Canal, which the bridge spans, was opened around 1777. Bridge 43 is located next to Bridge No 42.
