Description

Orchard Cottage is a detached cottage that dates back to the 17th century, with later alterations and additions. It features a timber frame and cement construction topped with a thatched roof, and has a central brick chimney. The cottage is one storey high with an attic and consists of two bays. It has later casement windows, with the lower ones fitted with leaded lights, and a plain square-framed doorway. There is a modern addition at the rear and left-hand side, which is generally in keeping with the original structure and also has a thatched roof. Inside, the cottage retains exposed ceiling beams throughout, along with exposed timber-framed partitions.
