Description
Wychnor Bridges Farmhouse is a large farmhouse built in the early 19th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of red brick with stone details and features a low-pitched hipped tiled roof, with stacks at both the ends and the center at the rear. The building is three stories high and has a symmetrical front with a 2:3:2 window arrangement. There are string courses at the ground and first floor cill levels, and the windows are glazing bar sashes with 20 panes, including 12 panes under the eaves, all topped with flat gauged brick arches.
A notable feature is the three-sided central bay that extends the full height of the front and has a hipped roof, with a blind window in the center under the eaves. The ground floor of this bay is cut away and supported by four Tuscan columns, with two half-columns against the wall, all beneath a moulded stone frieze. The central entrance is set under this bay and is flush with the main elevation, featuring a six-panel door. To the south, there is an attached farm building range, and to the north, there is a smithy range and cottage.
