Description

Smithy Cottage and the attached range of outbuildings date from the early 19th century and have had some alterations in the 20th century. The buildings are constructed from red brick and feature a tiled roof, which is hipped over the cottage and has ridge stacks. The cottage, located at the north end, has a two-storey, three-window front. It contains 20th-century small replica casements set in original segmental-headed openings, with the center window being narrower. The entrance, which was originally central, now has a 20th-century boarded door positioned to the right of a 20th-century casement, although the former head of the entrance is still visible. Connecting the cottage to the farmhouse is a long, approximately 30-meter single-storey smithy range. This range has a stack at the north end, with a square small-pane casement and a paired boarded door, along with a small casement to the right.
