Description
A pair of gatepiers and gates, dating from around 1700, were relocated to their current site around 1870 for Hugo Francis Meynell Ingram. The gatepiers are made of ashlar and feature two square piers with bracketed pilasters and a deeply moulded entablature that includes a pulvinated frieze. Each pier is topped with a ball finial on a raised square base. Between the piers stands a pair of finely crafted wrought iron gates, which are very elaborately decorated and are reputed to have been made by Robert Bakewell.
