Description
This is a range of brick cottages located on Darby Road in Coalbrookdale, dating from the early 19th century. The cottages have plain tile roofs with gabled ends and brick dentil eaves courses. The central cottage, No. 8, is one storey with an attic, featuring two small attic gables. It has sash windows with glazing bars, panelled cast-iron lintels, a brick string course, and a central pilastered doorcase with a cornice. The other cottages, Nos. 7, 9, and 10, are two storeys tall, each with two windows, old casements with glazing bars, moulded doorcases, and flush panel doors. They also have round arched passageways, with No. 7 featuring a vaulted passage. Brick ridge stacks are present on the roofs. These cottages are included for their group value.
