Description

The Wheel Pit at Coalbrookdale Ironworks dates from the early 19th century. It consists of two tall parallel brick walls that enclose the remains of a wheel pit, which once housed an iron water wheel. This wheel was used to power machinery in the various workshops that were located on the site in the past.
