Description

Snapper Furnace is a brick-built furnace constructed around 1792, although it was never put into operation. It features a design similar to that of the nearby Old Furnace. Notable aspects include the radiused brickwork of the arched recesses. Additionally, there are tunnels on two sides of the furnace, which were included as a precaution against the seepage of ground water.
