Description
No. 60 High Street is a late 18th-century building that features stucco applied to an earlier timber-framed core, likely from the 16th century. The structure has three storeys and includes three sash windows. The entrance is marked by a moulded wood doorcase with an open pediment and a rectangular fanlight. To the right of the ground storey, there is a moulded wood bay window. A band runs along the second floor, and the building has plain eaves and old tiles. Early 19th-century iron railings enclose a small forecourt. Inside, the interior has been generally altered but retains a partly altered early 16th-century staircase with oak splat balusters of an unusual pattern. Additionally, there is a section of exposed timber-framing on the second floor, featuring wattle-and-daub infilling.
