Description

The railings, gates, and war memorial located west of the Coalbrookdale Institute were created around 1859 and were cast at the Coalbrookdale works. They feature ornamental cast-iron railings set on brick dwarf walls, along with four cast-iron gate piers that have a quatrefoil section and spear-head finials. The ornamental cast-iron gates complement this design. Behind the railings stands a cast-iron war memorial, designed in the form of an obelisk topped with a cross.
