Description
The Church of Holy Trinity, built between 1850 and 1854 by architects Reeves and Voysey, is a Grade II* listed building located on Church Road in Coalbrookdale. Funded by the Darby family for their workers, this large church is designed in a decorated Gothic style and is situated on a hillside. It features rock-faced stone construction, a nave and chancel with full-length north and south aisles, and steeply pitched slate roofs. The church includes a vestry and a large tower at the south-west corner, which is the ritual west corner. The tower has an embattled parapet, a two-light belfry, setback buttresses with set-offs, and an octagonal corner stair turret. Inside, there is a 16th-century Flemish stained glass window depicting The Last Supper.
