Description
Manor Farmhouse is an early 18th century red brick house featuring sandstone quoins, a heavy moulded eaves cornice, and a steeply pitched plain tile roof with stone coped gabled ends. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a five-window range. The windows are cross mullion transom types, although the ground floor windows have been replaced by sashes with glazing bars. The central doorway is accentuated by a pilastered porch with an entablature and a date plaque above, inscribed 'A' over 'O.F.' 1702. A central brick stack with pilaster strips has been rebuilt at the top, and there are attic windows in the gable ends. At the rear, there is a wing with a chimney stack that also features pilaster strips. Inside, the left-hand ground floor room has a moulded ceiling beam, while the right-hand ground floor room has a chamfered ceiling beam with a moulded plaster cornice. There is a good contemporary open-well staircase on all floors, complete with moulded balusters, square newels, and a moulded rail.
