Description

Manor Farmhouse is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of red brick with painted stone dressings, featuring quoins, a band, and a plinth. The roof is steeply pitched and hipped, covered in plain tiles, with a central brick stack located behind the ridge. The building has two storeys set on a moulded stone plinth, with a first-floor band, rusticated quoins, and a moulded stone cornice.

The front of the house is a regular five-bay arrangement, with glazing bar sash windows in open boxes that have moulded raised surrounds. The central first-floor window is distinguished by an eared surround, topped by a pulvinated frieze and the raised central part of the main cornice. Above this window is a carved acanthus bracket, with tall moulded volute brackets on either side. The central entrance features a six-panelled door within a moulded surround, topped by a segmental, partially open pediment, and is accessed by four steps.

On the right return front, there are four bays with glazing bar sash windows in open boxes, all adorned with painted keystones. The interior is very plain, featuring a 19th-century staircase that is likely not in its original position. All doors have simple 18th-century wooden surrounds with either plank or plain doors.
