Description

Gibbet Post, built in 1800, is a square sectioned wooden post fixed in the ground. Originally, it had a plaque that read: "This Gibbet was erected a ½ of a mile from the scene of a murder committed by John Massey February, 1800," but this plaque had been removed by the time of the resurvey in February 1988.
