Description
Christ Church is a parish church located in Cobridge, Stoke on Trent, built between 1839 and 1840 and enlarged in 1845 by architect Francis Bedford. The church is constructed of yellow brick and features tiled roofs. It includes a west tower, nave, and chancel. The tower consists of three stages and has a moulded brick arched west doorway with a steep pointed hood mould that ends in a fleur-de-lis, along with dates on the stops. There is a clock in the second stage and paired bell chamber lights above. The parapet has been renewed and features angle finials. The west end has lancet windows set in stone coping. The five-bay nave is supported by buttresses, with each bay containing a single lancet window. The eaves cornice is brick corbelled. The chancel, which is a later addition, has paired foiled lancet windows on the north and south sides, as well as a tier of three lancet lights on the east.
